Traveling to Hot Springs
This quiet mountain town is one of our favorite places and holds so much sentimental value for us. It’s small and tucked away (which is why we love it), but that also means it can be a little tricky to get to. Below are a few travel tips to make things easier. If you’re having trouble figuring out transportation, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Flying
The best airport options are Roanoke, Charlottesville, Richmond, and Washington, D.C. You can rent a car directly from the airport or book a local car service (a great option if you want to coordinate with other people who get in to the same airport around the same time).
Roanoke-Blacksburg Airport: 1 hour, 30 minutes
Charlottesville–Albemarle Airport: 2 hours
Richmond International Airport: 3 hours
Dulles International Airport: 3 hours, 30 minutes
Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport: 3 hours, 30 minutes
Driving
For those within driving distance, it’s a beautiful and scenic trip. Some routes include steep mountain roads, so feel free to text Janie or Curtis and we can recommend which route to take (or avoid) depending on the time of day.
Richmond: 2 hours, 45 minutes
Charlotte: 4 hours, 15 minutes
Greenville: 6 hours
Charleston: 8 hours
Atlanta: 8 hours, 15 minutes
